Rural to Action is a local youth-led community-based organization towards improving food security and nutrition among children, empowering the youth in rural Homabay, Kenya. It provides children in rural primary schools in Kenya with a cup of nutritious porridge daily to nourish and energize them for learning during school hours.

As a Hospice, we provide care for people with advanced, incurable terminal illness in the final stages of life. We promote Palliative care which is treatment focused on the patient as opposed to the disease. We provide Hospice care which is even more focused on the person; as it is provided once treatment has stopped. It is a specialized area of medicine as a lot of the focus is on comfort, pain management and symptom control where most medicine is focused on fighting disease for cure. Both Palliative care and Hospice care have the same focus, they both promote an improved quality of life.

PSFA is a registered South African non-profit organisation dedicated to combating child hunger in schools. Since 1958, PSFA has served over two billion nutritious meals to impoverished learners, improving their concentration, attendance, and academic performance. PSFA’s holistic school nutrition support programme ensures thousands of children receive the nourishment they need to thrive, reinforcing the fact that you can’t teach a hungry child. A donation of only R950 will enable PSFA to feed a child for a year, and R100 will feed a child for a month. Our goal is to ensure that 500 learners will receive 2 daily meals for a year (R950 X 500 learners).

In Nederland ben ik onder andere gediagnosticeerd met zwak bindweefsel en ME/CVS. Na een bezoek aan een arts in Barcelona vorig jaar, is er instabiliteit in mijn nekwervels gediagnosticeerd. De oplossing is even simpel als duur: een fusie, waarbij mijn bovenste wervels worden vast gezet. In Nederland wordt dit niet gedaan of vergoed, maar de operatie zou me mijn leven kunnen terug geven. As a Public Benefit Organisation, the Rohan Bloom Foundation is committed to building the first Specialised Paediatric Palliative Care In-Patient Hospice in Cape Town, Rohan House, offering the necessary palliative care as well as restoring dignity to the patient, whilst ensuring emotional and psychological support for the family. The Foundation aims to bring together the skills, resources and inspiration to create a blueprint for similar facilities across South Africa for terminally ill children and their families.
